Seeking Investment Partner for Established Land Project in the Cowichan Valley, Canada

My Story…

I grew up a 90’s kid in a typical suburb outside Vancouver, Canada.

I had a fairly blessed childhood with loving parents and siblings. We had our struggles but I remain grateful for our level of comfort and security.

In my early 20’s I awoke to the paradox of modern civilization - the sense that beneath the shiny veneer, something was very wrong. We were on an unsustainable path toward destruction, and I was called to participate in shifting our collective trajectory.

I wondered: if folks were able to experience new pathways of the possible, might we be able to change our course?

In our increasingly connected world, I discovered documentaries as the most effective way to shift perception in the shortest amount of time. I produced films like Sacred Economics, Occupy Love, Amplify Her, and many others.

My understanding was influenced by two major sources - the first was the Orphan Wisdom School and the second, Tamera Healing Biotope.

Both showed me that the loss of living in community (ie. village) was the “black hole” that lay at the center of so many maladies facing our species today.

And while many people have understood this as the root crises, and even tried to “create community”, many more have failed. What I’ve come to understand is that community is more than just a place: living in community is a skill.

And we need places that model and teach this art of “re-villaging” once again.

I swam upstream with the question: how did things get this way?

Over the last few years, my family and I have been exploring intentional communities, searching for the right location to plant roots and co-create a new educational hub.

Our journey has led us to an established community located within the beautiful Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island.

The Land Project

Bordered by towering trees, lush with ponds and nestled against the banks of the fierce Cowichan River, this 6 year old project has already become a gathering place for the spirit of community.

Aside from personal dwellings, the land already has numerous functional spaces, including a Community Garden, Meditation Area, Sauna, Gathering Yurt, Creative Workshop, Nature Based School, and more.

Two adjacent properties have interwoven to create a burgeoning 20 acre collaborative village-in-training that continues to evolve and deepen.

The Revillager Project

The land is also home to the co-founder of the Revillager App, an ethical platform to connect like-hearted folks with each other and for the evolution of community. They are (separately) seeking seed funding for the next phase of development, which includes the educational hub both in-person and online - which I will co-develop.

Here’s where you come in:

One of the current landowners has made the decision to sell her portion of ownership in order to tend to personal matters.

Over the last three months, my family has been living here in order to build relationships and acquire direct experience of being on this land.

We are seeking an Investor loan to purchase the $380,000 CAD cost of the seller’s share.

This is an opportunity to connect and collaborate with an established land project as we co-create the next phase: an educational hub in the art of revillaging.

Exact terms of the loan & agreement to be negotiated.

If you are inspired to connect…let’s talk.
