A pic of Jodi Ettenberg from Legal Nomads, shot this weekend at the TBEX conference in Vancouver. We were walking by a painting on the wall of the conference center, and there was something about it that compelled me to stop and get Jodi in front of it. Plus, I wanted to try out my great new flash (Canon 320EX) indoors.

Jodi is a very smiley person, but this photo stood out as she buried her face in her hands for a moment while laughing. View the full photoset here.

The program is pretty incredible actually: basically investing large amounts of money and time to foster the BC artist community (even more important in the face of devastating Liberal funding cuts).

Ben is one of the Top 20 finalists for 2010, and his first challenge was to shoot a video introducing the project and his own involvement. We batted around ideas, at one point seriously considering a parody of the Old Spice guy (we gave up after it didn’t pass my wife’s cliche test).

Instead, we opted for the following: straightforward, with a little twist. Enjoy!

While roaming around Spadina, I wandered into a retro video game shop. On the shelf were some amazing, hand-painted sprites from classic video games.

I couldn’t resist. I’m now the proud owner of this pair:
